Each year I stagger our amaryllis bulbs to have blooms throughout the winter. Last fall I purchased a Rilona Amaryllis bulb to add to our collection, and planted it first. Although it did not bloom with the intense melon and papaya color I expected, it did send up some beautiful stalks and flowers.
Oddly, no leaves were sent up with the two stalks and buds.
I wonder if the color will change over the years. Probably not, but a beautiful flower in any case.
