I planted this iris last year, and this is the first bloom. It is called Savannah Sunset. I planted it as a memorial to my niece, Samantha (Sam) Puhr. Sam was 21 years old and a senior at the Savannah School of Art and Design. She died suddenly in November, 2011.
Sam was a beautiful and talented young woman. Nothing will ever replace her. The memory of Samantha lives on, and every late spring I will always have a reminder of her.
