Happy Leap Year!

We have snowdrops, Galanthus (from the Greek for milkflower) by the thousands which apparently have been multiplying for many years in our back woods.  Most flower in winter, before the vernal equinox.

Over the years, Stephen has been digging clumps of them up from the woods and I have been transplanting the bulbs around the property so we can actually see and enjoy them.

This line of snowdrops lines the front of the Peony patch (in sun), wraps behind the in-ground bird bath, and continues in front of the moss/fern patch under the pear tree (in shade).

The Red Lion amaryllis is still going strong.  Spring is right around the corner!
