Galanthus, snowdrops, are just starting to open.
Galanthus is from Ancient Greek γάλα, (gála, "milk") + ἄνθος (ánthos, "flower"). They flower in winter, before the vernal equinox (20 or 21 March in the Northern Hemisphere).
