Sunday night we picked up our friends from Milwaukee, Paula and Gary, at the Amtrak station. They were visiting in Washington D.C. and came down to visit us. What a delight it was to see them after so many years. We talked and noshed around the table finishing with Stephen's home-made apple pie.
On Monday we went to Natural Bridge, and then took a ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Paula, who has taken thousand of pictures starting at eight years old, is currently struggling with a cataloguing system to cover all of her photos.
We had a great time talking at home, during our walks, in the car, and at dinner at Main Street Eatery. Naturally, we saved room for dessert as we drove home to devour Stephen's apple pie.
Tuesday morning Paula and Gary Amtraked back to D.C. and flew back to Milwaukee the next day. It was a short yet very enjoyable visit from some old friends!
