Last year, Sara Coleman gave us a Christmas cactus. After flowering, I kept it alive long enough to put outside in the sun. It grew so much I had to transplant it to a larger pot.
Toward late fall, Sara and Roy stopped over and I asked if they had a sunny window to put the cactus in so it could bloom. Sara told me to put it in a dark room or closet without any sunlight, keep it damp, and wait a few weeks. That's what I did, and behold, this was the result.
Thanks, Sara!
