Saturday May 7, 2016 Lost in D.C.

The sun came out and it was a beautiful day.  After sleeping late and a large breakfast, we decided to see something different in D.C.  The Textile Museum sounded fun so we set off with our out-of-date, but trusty, guide book.  From Dupont Circle we walked, and we walked,  but we couldn't find the museum...basically, we were lost!  We finally asked a local and he knew the museum.  We were obviously relieved and it obviously pained him to tell us the museum was closed...for good.

Shlepping our way back to Dupont Circle to catch the metro, we ended up in Embassy Row which was alive with music, food, and extensive lines of people waiting to enter the open embassies.  The atmosphere was extremely festive.  We did go into the Larz Anderson House which is now the beaux-arts style national headquarters of the Society of the Cincinnati.
