We headed off to Philadelphia via Amtrak to spend some time with Jason who was flying in from Chicago for work.
While we stopped over in Washington D.C. so Amtrak could change the locomotive, Stephen headed to our favorite shop in Union Station: Neuhaus Belgium Chocolates.
We were unusually successful in not raiding the box before we arrived at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. The station itself was restored in 1991 to it's Art Deco glory and features a World War II memorial consisting of a bronze statue of the archangel Michael lifting the body of a dead soldier out of the flames of war. The base of the sculpture features 1,307 names of the Pennsylvania Railroad employees who died in that war.
That night, we went to the 76ers game (they played the Bulls, who won) courtesy of Jason's employer, SIG, Susquehanna International Group. Not to rub it in, but we were in their catered suite which has forever spoiled us when it comes to any other event venue.

A totally awesome experience.
